SourceHorse is an AI-powered browser extension that helps users analyze webpage content,
generate summaries, surface insights, and fact-check claims. This Privacy Policy explains
what information SourceHorse collects, how it is used, where it is stored, when it is shared,
and what choices users have.
Important: SourceHorse is designed to process webpage content only to provide the
user-facing features the user requests, such as page analysis, highlighted-section analysis,
summaries, and fact-checking. SourceHorse does not sell personal information and is not intended
to collect browsing history for advertising purposes.
1. Information We Collect
Webpage content you choose to analyze. When you use SourceHorse to analyze a page or a highlighted section, SourceHorse may collect the visible text you ask it to analyze.
Page metadata related to the requested analysis. This may include the page URL and the analysis mode you selected in order to generate the requested output.
Account information. If you sign in, SourceHorse collects your email address and authentication/session information in order to log you in and manage your account.
Usage and subscription information. SourceHorse stores data needed to manage plan limits, remaining credits, top-ups, and subscription status.
Local extension data. SourceHorse may store data locally in your browser, such as session information, recent analysis history stored on your device, widget state or position, usage counters, selected mode, and other settings required for the extension to function.
Payment-related metadata. If you purchase a subscription or top-up, SourceHorse may process your email address, selected plan, and internal billing identifiers needed to initiate checkout and update your plan. SourceHorse does not receive or store your full payment card number.
2. Information We Do Not Intend to Collect
SourceHorse is not designed to collect or sell your full browsing history as a standalone product or advertising dataset.
SourceHorse is not designed to read page content except as needed to provide the analysis features you actively use.
SourceHorse does not intentionally collect payment card numbers; payment processing is handled by Stripe.
3. How We Use Information
To provide the SourceHorse features you request, including summaries, insights, and fact-checking.
To authenticate users and maintain signed-in sessions.
To track usage limits, subscriptions, credits, and plan eligibility.
To process purchases, upgrades, renewals, and credit top-ups.
To maintain extension functionality, preferences, and local history features on your device.
To detect abuse, enforce plan limits, troubleshoot errors, and maintain service security.
4. When and How Webpage Content Is Processed
SourceHorse processes webpage text in connection with the user-facing analysis features of the extension.
For example, when you click Analyze or analyze a highlighted section, SourceHorse may send the
relevant text, the page URL, and your selected analysis mode to SourceHorse's backend so a response can be generated.
SourceHorse does not claim ownership of the webpage content you analyze. That content is processed only to provide
the requested result and related service operations, such as returning the response, enforcing usage limits, and
maintaining service reliability.
5. Where Information Is Stored
Locally in your browser: SourceHorse may store session information, recent analysis history, settings, widget state, and counters using browser storage on your device.
In SourceHorse cloud infrastructure and service providers: account, usage, subscription, and related service data may be stored in SourceHorse's backend systems and service providers used to operate the product.
Payment systems: payment and subscription records may be stored by Stripe as part of secure payment processing.
6. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
SourceHorse shares information only as reasonably necessary to operate the service, complete requested transactions,
and provide the features described above. SourceHorse does not sell personal information.
Supabase: Used for authentication, session support, backend functions, and storage of account, usage, and subscription-related records.
Stripe: Used for payment processing, checkout, subscriptions, and related billing operations.
OpenAI: Used through SourceHorse’s backend to process webpage text and related request data needed to generate the analysis, summaries, fact-checks, and other AI responses you request.
SourceHorse does not sell your personal data. These third-party services only receive the information needed to perform their respective functions for the service.
7. Retention
Local browser data: remains on your device until you clear it, uninstall the extension, or sign out, except where the browser manages storage automatically.
Account, usage, and subscription records: may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, enforce limits, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and maintain business records.
Analyzed webpage content: SourceHorse aims not to permanently store analyzed page text longer than necessary to provide the requested result and operate the service, but temporary processing, transient logs, backups, and provider-side retention may still occur.
8. Security
SourceHorse uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information
against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure,
and SourceHorse cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can sign out of your account through the SourceHorse login/session flow.

SourceHorse uses that data only to provide or improve the user-facing features described in this policy and in the
Chrome Web Store listing, such as webpage analysis, summaries, insights, highlighted-section analysis, account access,
